![]() It isn't about funding or not being ready for prime time it is about strategy. They want something more widely popular and therefore consumer-focused. Outlook tasks was/is powerful, but ugly and really only adopted by heavy business users. I think this is a conscious, strategic decision by Microsoft. It is simpler and easier to navigate and manage, but it misses out on certain things like category integration. In many ways it is superior to their previous iteration of Tasks, but it certainly does not have the same feature set. They purchased Wunderlist and brought that team over to lead the development of ToDo. This is probably better described as their 'superduper task manager'.įor whatever reason, they saw the need to do something different when it came to a task app. It was very feature-rich and integrated closely with Outlook. ![]() Access from anywhere Microsoft To Do is available for free, and syncs across iPhone, Android, Windows, and the web. Microsoft has had its own task system built on top of Outlook's framework. To Do is integrated with Outlook Tasks, making it easier to manage all your tasks in one place. ![]() I'm not sure they would describe it as such.
